When you thought about music for your wedding what did you want?
We really wanted live and interactive music for our wedding. We believe that music creates the atmosphere of an event so we wanted a band/artist who could read the crowd and adjust accordingly.

We wanted acoustic relaxed music for the ceremony, background casual yet pumping sounds for the canapes and dinner, then rocking beats for the late-night dance floor.

There are lots of cool musicians around-what made you decide to book us?
We stalked (on social media) then observed live performances by a few musicians and groups and there is some huge talent out there! But we didn’t have that ‘we want them’ feeling until we viewed Bassline Studios live. The difference we found is their broad range of music and their ability to read and interact with the crowd. In the chaotic world of wedding planning, we knew we got a good vendor when we got the ‘easy-they’ve got this under control’ feeling and that meant no extra stress. We got that feeling from Bassline Studios right from the first email interaction right through to the last song played. Once we decided to lock them in, they gently guided us through our music choices-the vibe we wanted for the different parts of the day, specific song choices (walking up the aisle, walking down the aisle, first dance…) and even asked what songs were on the ‘definitely-under-no-circumstance-play’ list.In terms of behind-the-scenes, they were very transparent in discussing price, equipment and expectations from both sides.

What were some of your most memorable musical moments from your wedding ceremony?
To be absolutely honest, the ceremony was a blur! As I stood at the end of the aisle about to walk down with my dad, the music started playing (I’m Yours by Jason Mraz) and I do remember looking over at the montheside and thinking, ‘Oh My God, this is the song! But also, they made it and they’re nailing this’.

Our exit down the aisle music was ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams, and again I have a memory of tuning in for a few seconds to this being played and feeling so elated.

And reception? The reception dance floor is one of my favourite memories of the day. The atmosphere they created was one that our 2-year-old niece to our 80-year-old grandparents and all the guests in between felt comfortable. I have memories (and photographic evidence) of guests singing(dominating) into the microphone with Bernadette; of my cousin swaying with my grandma and of so many happy faces because of the atmosphere the music created. I remember looking at Bernadette as we did our first dance and we walked down opposite sides of the room and she had this massive encouraging smile on her face as I was sweating bullets about dancing. Bernadette also sacrificed her hair tie and found some flowers to create a‘throwing’ bouquet once we realised I hadn’t organised one. It seems like a small gesture but they were invested in the wedding–not just the music, but in ours and our guests’ enjoyment of the day.

Is there anything else you wanna say?
Bassline Studios was the best vendor we had at our wedding. From the first inquiry email to the last song at the wedding it was an easy experience. They created a better atmosphere than we even imagined for our day! To this day, my friends and family comment on how good the music was a tour wedding. They don’t remember specific songs, but they remember the way they felt and I contribute this largely to the atmosphere Bassline Studios created. I highly recommend Bassline Studios and want to have another party just so we can dance to their music again
